For the last one, the guy and the gal is not matching, and the feelings seems superficial. out of the door he is shown a lot cuddling his head as if where to go. and the girl, I have to say a big gal among common simple ppl (labourers)(the contrast is very high) running away as if she saw her killer.
YOu could do it better.

To 'Anonymous' - your 'big gal' comment is interesting. Do advise how well equipped you are to make judgement upon the choice of the cast in a world rife with plenty of anorexics in this industry! Are you an industry professional? My take on this piece is one where I can see the artist has tried to portray extreme contrast between the background and the lovers and not use stereotypical figures. The choice of cast is one that I am sure most everyday folk could relate to which is rather refreshing. Had you considered that? And I must add, she looks athletic and healthy to me, NOT 'big'!

Hi Anonymous and Browzer

For starters yesi intended for the extreme contrast not just so they stand out but also because so that the circumstances do too.
As for the casting, yes the idea was to maintain something close to reality and i did try acheiving that by casting everyday people who can stand proud of themselves and stress over issues that matter rather than just their weights. I thought Anita looked fabulous and as Browzer rightly says 'atheletic and healthy'
Had i chosen a skinny girl (Skinny the unhealthy kind. the anorexic kind), she would have dropped dead in the 10 hour shoot x3days> Both Anita and Steve were very helpful with other essential issues as well such as the shots, ways of walking and expressions etc. And they did splendidly well.

Lastly, i appreciate everyones comments, and yes to each his own opinion but the last word remains: My crew members are like my babies. Im good at taking ctriticism on my work but with my crew, i can hrdly tolerate but that is not to say that i dont respect anyones opinion
Thankyou

Hi Areeba,
Firstly i would like to express how much you have my utmost respect for striving to become a good Film Maker , its quite rare to meet such folk around the UAE (or maybe i just dont get around that much)
I watched all your films and while i am not "well equipped to make judgements" on any of the choices taken into consideration while making your films i still highly admire the amount of work you put into your films .
Now if i may add my own 2 cents. Please do not consider this a personel attack towards your endavours in film , its just an opinion - I felt that the replies to Anonymous's criticism were immediately responded to in a very defensive manner and browzeys post constantly reminded him/her that everything in the movie coincided with generic opinion , if that was the case , Anonymous would not criticize the film at all. My point is that Critique is never constrained to "Professional Opinion" and has to be taken into account regardless of who it is , it should be further analyzed and acted upon in favor or against depending on the market segment you aim your films at.
As for the "Big girl" comment (this one is a lil hard to tackle) It was clearly evident that while making the film you wanted an extremely natural and not a "run of the mill" movie , with people that can be related to in everyday life. However if this love story carried a message and you wanted a wider audience to receive it , Stereotypical protagonists would have been a better choice. This industry is clearly run on false aesthetics to make sure the viewers have their eyes glued to the screen. Im not trying to say that your casting choices were bad ,im just saying for people to truly understand that natural people and settings can also carry meaning is a lil hard in an industry based on surface matter rather then whats underneath , to curb this might i advice a mission statement under the logo of Darkspindle productions?

Anyways again please bear in mind that this is not a "flame" towards the hard work you put into your art.I tried my best to keep my opinion as constructive as possible.Sorry if it was too long , thanks for reading.

The video on a whole is quite appealing in an aesthetic way however I would agree the characters seem mis-matched. I agree the girl used in the video looks a little frumpy, however my main criticism is that she looks like she is a good 10 years older than the guy used. She reminds me a little of Vanessa Feltz and she exudes a more motherly figure than the main love interest.

Dear Most Recent Anonymous!

Thankyou for your comment!
Yes a lot of people agree Anita tends to look older than Steve, in which case id probably be held for blame with regards to casting. But individually i thought the two gave good performances!

Anita is a lot different now. she works as a personal trainer and is a weight lifter. She has some great plans in that field and hopefully in the media as well.

i would appreciate it if commenters left their names. it makest he whole reading experience a little more personal.

thanx!

Best Wishes
Areeba
